New Polls: Hoyas #14/#16

Monday is poll day, and the coaches have Georgetown ranked #14, a five-point jump from last week, while the writers moved our boys up two spots to #16.  Nine Georgetown opponents–Villanova, Duke, Syracuse, West Virginia, Washington, Connecticut, Louisville, Butler, and Cincinnati–are ranked, regardless of which poll you consult.

The first ranked opponent Georgetown faces is Butler (Dec. 8), whose last four games have included a four-point victory at Evansville, a loss to Minnesota in Aneheim, a last-second victory over seemingly hapless UCLA, and a last-second loss to Clemson.  Not surprisingly, Butler took a dip from #10/#12 to #20/#23.  Still, the Bulldogs are experienced and will be the Hoyas’ best competition to date.
