“Let me tell you something, I am god.”
That’s a quote from Alec Baldwin’s tour de force performance in the underrated thriller Malice, but it sounds like it could have come from the mouth of Coach Rick Pitino. I’m actually a fan of the guy. It’s hard for me to like the coaches of opposing teams (do not get me started on Boeheim), but Pitino is a good coach, he loves the game and has got some flare (mattwernz calls this outfit his “satan suit”).
But when it came to his most recent controversy, a simple apology would have done just fine… or just a statement, but the press conferences were ridiculous. Remind me again how 9/11 fits into this whole thing? Why are we talking about the passing of Senator Edward Kennedy? C’mon coach.

You ask me if I have a god complex?
